Creative Technologist
& Systems Designer
I've spent 20+ years building interconnected digital platforms that combine design, data, photography, and infrastructure. I've always been a self-starter, self-taught type of person, and I frame my career as a continuum of learning and action rather than just a series of jobs. I haven’t really taken much of a hiatus since I got started.
Now, I'm based in Girdwood, Alaska, working from one of the most extreme and inspiring environments on Earth.
I understand context and constraints to produce clarity, consistency, and results that actually last.
Rooted in Alaska.
I was born and raised in Anchorage, where the geography is as much a part of you as your name. I attended Highland Tech High School, but my real education started in my family's shop. My family has always been the type to figure it out. They didn't just buy tools; they built them.
One memory sticks: they needed to photograph a weld inside a pipe, so they fashioned a custom light-shroud out of a neoprene lampshade to kill the glare and snapped a film photo. That kind of improvised, efficiency-minded engineering is exactly how I approach the web.
That early curiosity for how things work led me to Apple Inc. It was my crucible—a place where I forged foundational skills at the intersection of high-end technology and human-centric design. It taught me that a system is only as good as its weakest link, and that simple is almost always harder than complex.
Precision in the Extreme.
Building for resilience where the environment demands it most.
The camera, early on.
Always building together.
I've had a camera in my hands since I could grasp the mechanics of exposure. What started as curiosity turned into a lifelong obsession with visual documentation. From capturing the northern lights in sub-zero temperatures to documenting critical field operations, the lens is my primary tool for deciphering complex environments.
While my work requires extreme self-reliance, it is deeply collaborative. I am always working with others—balancing steep ridges alongside athletes, synthesizing data with marine biologists, or partnering with local experts to bring a shared vision to life in the Last Frontier.

Projects Spanning.
Context first.
Craft always.
Every project starts with understanding — the audience, the environment, the constraints. I don't jump to solutions. I listen, research, and then build systems that address the actual problem.
Research & Discovery
Understand the landscape before touching a single pixel.
Architecture & Strategy
Design the system, not just the surface.
Build & Iterate
Craft with precision. Ship. Improve. Repeat.
Deploy & Endure
Resilient infrastructure that serves for decades.
What I believe.
Ownership over dependency.
No SaaS lock-in. No fragile third-party stacks. Build infrastructure you control, host on systems you own, and maintain independence from platforms that can change overnight.
Craft over speed.
The web is drowning in rushed work. Every project I ship is built with intention, care, and the kind of attention that compounds over time.
Data as public good.
Alaska's data belongs to the public. To keep operations running and ensure these tools remain free and accessible, non-intrusive ads may be used to support ongoing development and server costs.
Provenance matters.
In a web increasingly driven by AI generation, knowing where content comes from — and being able to prove it — is the new competitive advantage.

Alaska isn't just a location.
It's a proving ground.
Extreme weather, remote communities, and limited infrastructure aren't just details—they are the constraints that define the work. Building here requires systems that are resilient, clear, and absolutely purposeful. If a platform doesn't work in a sub-zero storm or on a remote satellite link, it doesn't meet the standard. That constraint produces strength, and it’s why I build digital infrastructure designed to last.
