Google Business View

The Initiative

Between 2013 and 2016, as a Google Trusted Photographer operating out of Napa Valley, California, I was tasked with bringing the Street View technology inside the doors of local businesses. This required mastering specialized panoramic camera equipment, adhering to strict Google quality standards, and managing the end-to-end production of digital twins for high-end hospitality, retail, and winery spaces.

The Execution

Over the course of the program, I successfully mapped and integrated over 40 distinct locations into the Google Maps ecosystem:

• Precision Photography: Utilized nodal ninja tripods, fisheye lenses, and exposure bracketing (HDR) to capture hundreds of high-resolution panoramas in challenging lighting conditions (from dark barrel rooms to brightly sunlit tasting patios).
• Processing & Stitching: Managed the massive data ingest, raw processing, and panoramic stitching required to create seamless 360-degree environments.
• Platform Integration: Used Google's proprietary tools to build the "walkthrough" navigation logic, connecting the indoor panoramas directly to the external Street View network.
• Client Management: Handled the logistics, scheduling, and staging for high-end clients who could not afford disruption to their daily operations.

Interactive 360° Tours

Google Business View (now simply part of Street View) allows potential customers to explore the inside of a business exactly like they would explore a street. By capturing a series of high-resolution, 360-degree panoramic images using specialized equipment, we created seamless virtual walkthroughs. This interactive experience enables users to explore the ambiance, layout, and unique features of a location—from boutique winery tasting rooms to luxury hotel suites—before ever stepping foot on the property. Below are examples showcasing the scale and immersion of these digital twins.

The Result

The program delivered immediate, measurable impact for the clients. By having an interactive "See Inside" option on their Google search results, wineries and hotels experienced higher engagement rates and longer interaction times on their business profiles. This project honed my ability to execute highly technical, volume-based media production while maintaining pristine quality standards under the umbrella of a major tech brand.
