Can Label System
A complete 16 oz. can label design system developed for Valdez Brewing Company — three distinct beer identities unified by a signature mountain silhouette motif rooted in the landscapes of Valdez, Alaska.
The Brief
Valdez Brewing needed a scalable label system for their growing lineup of craft beers. Each label had to feel distinct for its style while sharing visual DNA — the jagged Chugach peaks that define the Valdez skyline. Three concepts were developed across multiple beer styles: an IPA, a Pilsner, and a specialty release.
Odessey IPA
A high-contrast acid-yellow colorway signals the bold hop character of this IPA. The Valdez Brewing wordmark runs as a continuous banner across the top of the can; the mountain silhouette below grounds it in place. Clean, confident, and unmistakably Alaskan.

Prop Wash Pilsner
"Prop Wash" — aviation slang for the turbulent air behind a propeller — nods to Valdez's bush-pilot culture. The aggressive red filling the lower half of the can creates immediate shelf impact, while the mountain silhouette remains consistent with the broader system.

Black Hops IPA
The flagship concept that anchored the project brief. A tactical, military-inspired identity leaning into dark colorways and stencil aesthetics — designed to feel like gear you'd bring into the backcountry. Full label and event poster delivered as production-ready files.
Design System
All three labels share a unified structural grid: the Valdez Brewing banner marks the top edge, the layered mountain silhouette with engraved botanical texture fills the center stage, and the beer name anchors the lower field in a bold, legible typeface. Each concept diverges at the color and personality level, allowing Valdez Brewing's lineup to feel distinct on the shelf while remaining unmistakably from the same family.
